Doodly doo

So, Kinzie posted a lot of "I" statements so I'm going to as well.

1. If I were trapped on a desert island and could only have a few things, I would have

- Soy milk with which to make chai lattes
- Chai tea

That's all I care about right now because I'm drinking some Chai.
But anyway, I had a nice day today. As I am applying for summer internships, I received a letter of recommendation from Tom Mitchell, of whom if I were stuck on this island, I would need to think in order to lift my spirits. He basically said in his letter that even though I didn't win, my paper was better than the other kids' papers at the EIU research symposium, and that he thinks I'm funny.

And then, I got this paper back from my GWS professor and she went on and on about it on the back. I love when teachers write comments instead of just giving you a grade. She said that I was a "frighteningly good ethnographer," and that "if [I] don't become an anthropologist, [I] need to write a novel," so that made me feel really, really great.

And then I came home, and I was REALLY HUNGRY and so I ate a carrot (a large carrot, not multiple baby carrots) with some of that really good hummus from Strawberry Fields and then ate numerous other things but honestly the carrot was the best and now I sort of wish that I'd just eaten a bunch of carrots.

The End!

wouldn't you also need something to make the water hot?

TOO BAD YOU DIDN'T THINK ABOUT THAT, HUH?

Kinzie, she'd be surrounded by water. And once you boil it (making it hot) the salt would be non-existant and not dehydrate her. Duh. I still love you. And she might not have thought about it. I did though.

Duh.

YEAH but how would you boil it? huh? huh?

does she have a magnifying glass?

It makes my LIFE when teachers write long comments at the end of papers explaining their grade, especially if the comments are awesome. If I were you, I would photocopy that "frighteningly good ethnographer" part and decoupage it all over your room.

...And sometimes I save my papers from a long time ago and take them out and reread the comments when I'm feeling really sad and they make me feel better.

Also, because I can't resist:

In order to desalinate saltwater, you'd need some kind of vacuum evaporator or flash evaporator machine like they have on cruise ships, which would probably use up too much energy to ever be practical on a deserted island. Boiling the saltwater would only kill the bacteria, it wouldn't get rid of the salt. Amy's chai lattes would be salty and disgusting, and would eventually kill her.

And it would be all thanks to your advice, Jaclyn. For shame.

BUT THERE'S STILL THE ISSUE OF MAKING IT HOT.

Perhaps there are sticks or stones on this island. She can do it up, Native American style and use a coconut (if its that kind of island) or something similar as her pot.

sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me.

sorry, i couldn't resist.
